OUR STORY

After about thirty years spent in the technical direction and/or management of some of the most important Italian converting companies, Eng. Agapito Di Tommaso decides to found Smartcolormatch s.r.l., convinced that he can provide an important contribution to research and development in the field of color printing.
Eng. Di Tommaso's research has been developing even before the company was founded through the publication of articles and essays also in collaboration with important Italian universities, such as the University of Naples and Catania.
In 2020, Smartcolormatch was born, in whose laboratory the first tests of a new pre-press method were conducted and the miniaturized Rotolab rotogravure machine and most of the tools that make up the future Smartcolormaker system were invented.
A first use of some of these tools at an industrial level was made at Icimen2 in Caserta, a historic Converting company where Eng. Di Tommaso also provides consultancy.
In 2022, the company took part in the Print4all fair in Milan, where the Smartcolormatch method and its related kits & tools were presented for the first time.
In November 2022 at the Api Giflex congress held in Naples, Eng. Di Tommaso previewed his study on the topic of heptachromy overlay "Overlapped heptachromy in Rotogravure printing. Critical aspects and chromatic considerations".
From 2022 to 2023, with Inkmaker s.r.l of Turin, we continue the co-development of the Smartcolormaker system which in 2023 is presented to Cellografica Gerosa S.p.A, where the system will receive definitive industrial validation in 2024.
Today Smartcolormatch is proposed to the market with an innovative method, several completely original hardware and software tools and with the exceptional testimony of one of the most important converters on the global industrial scene.
