COLOR LAB

Located in the middle of nature in Campania, the Smartcolormatch laboratory is a place where scientific research and industrial craftsmanship are perfectly combined. We work with advanced software and machinery and verify our color research through continuous practical verification of colors in printing.
For us, color is “two-faced Janus”: a chemical and physical phenomenon at the same time. Each shade has chemical characteristics related to its pigments that we always study in relation to its physical appearance and the “behavior” that emerges from the spectrophotometric analysis.
For us, color space is a real “universe”: we explore it like space explorers explore the cosmos. That’s why we like to call it “Chromocosm”. Colors seem to behave like planets, they attract and influence each other when they come into contact with each other, as if they were endowed with mysterious masses and gravitational forces. The in-depth study of these laws helps us to develop theories and algorithms with which to orient ourselves and govern the complexities of the chromatic universe.
Our research starts from the teachings of the great masters of color theory: Boogert, Meyer, Lambert, Leblond, Prange, Von Schonfeld, Goethe, Shopenhauer, Itten. We dedicate our enterprise to their genius and dedication, and the benefits that will come from it for those who decide to accompany us on this fascinating journey.
